Running a Mount & Blade: Warband server becomes far more powerful once you understand how to add and configure custom scene codes. Scene codes determine everything about a location, its terrain, props, entry points, AI mesh, and how players interact with the environment. Whether you're building a unique battlefield, a role‑play map, or a fully customized Persistent World scene, mastering scene codes lets you shape your server’s gameplay experience exactly the way you want. This guide walks you through the essential process of generating, adding, and configuring scene codes so your server can load custom maps reliably. You’ll learn where scene codes come from, how to apply them in your module files, and how to ensure your server recognizes and loads your new scenes without errors. By the end, you’ll have a clear workflow for integrating any custom scene into your Warband server.
Creating and Implementing Custom Scene Codes
To add a custom scene code to your server, navigate to the Napoleonic Wars folder (Or whatever module you are using)
Then, find the file inside called scenes.txt
Press the Edit button next to the file; it's marked as a Pencil button.
Once you have hit the edit button, you will be shown the contents of the file and be able to edit it.
Locate the scene code for the map you uploaded, and replace the required text with the text given to you with the map. Replace it and save the file.
Once saved, the map is completely uploaded and ready for use. Restart your server and enjoy!
