A clear approach helps you avoid accidental disruptions—like switching everyone’s mode mid‑event or granting more access than intended, while giving you the flexibility to adjust gameplay on the fly. By learning the available methods, when to use each one, and how to keep changes secure, you can manage your server confidently and maintain a smooth, enjoyable experience for your community.
Managing Game Modes on Your Hytale Server
1. Log in to your Game Control Panel and navigate to your service.
2. Before making any modifications, stop the server from running by clicking the Stop button.

3. Navigate to the Web-Console Tab.

4. In the Web‑Console tab, run the following command to apply the game mode change directly through your server’s command interface.
/gamemode <survival/creative> <player>

NOTE: The player must be actively logged in to the server for this command to work, since the game mode change is applied to their live session and cannot be processed if they’re offline.
5. Server admins can also execute this command directly in‑game, allowing them to make quick adjustments without opening the web console.
