Managing who can join your server is an important part of creating the best multiplayer experience in SCUM. Whether you're running a private community, hosting events, or keeping unwanted players out, enabling a whitelist gives you full control over server access by allowing only approved users to connect. In this guide, you’ll learn how to add players to the whitelist on your SCUM server, where to find the necessary configuration files, and how to manage approved users efficiently. By the end, you’ll have a secure and organized server environment tailored to your community.
Adding Whitelisted Users to Your SCUM Server
In SCUM, the Whitelisted User List provides prioritized access to selected players, working slightly differently from traditional whitelist systems found in other games. By default, the whitelist file on SCUM servers is empty, which means the feature is not active until users are manually added. Once a player is added to the list, the server effectively functions as a “whitelist server.” If the server is at full capacity, a whitelisted player who attempts to join will be given priority access, automatically replacing a non-whitelisted player to free up a slot for their connection.
