This guide will show you how to add mods on your ARK Survival Evolved Server.
ARK: Survival Evolved is already a wild ride but adding mods to your server can transform it into a truly custom prehistoric playground. Whether you're looking to introduce new creatures, tweak game mechanics, or build epic structures, mods offer endless possibilities to personalize your world and enhance gameplay for you and your community. Installing mods on an ARK server might seem intimidating at first, but with the right steps and tools, it’s surprisingly straightforward. You’ll need to gather mod IDs from the Steam Workshop, configure your server files, and ensure everything syncs properly. From automatic installations to manual uploads, there are multiple ways to get it done depending on your hosting setup.
Installing Mods on your ARK: Survival Evolved Server
There are 3 main options on how you can install mods on your server. Installation via ARK Remote, Manual Installation (Transferring Mod to the Server via FTP) and Installation via Steam Workshop Downloader. In this guide, we will be using the installation via Steam Workshop Downloader.
1. Login to your Game Panel.
2. Before making changes, make sure the server is stopped.
3. Navigate to Steam Workshop.
4. Look for the Mods that you wanted to install by using the Search Field. For this guide we will use Awesome SpyGlass. Once shown, click Install.
(NOTE: Remember the Mod Id, we're going to use that later. If Mod Id isn't shown, click the More Information and it will redirect you to the exact Steam Workshop website where you can get the Mod Id.)
5. Once installed, the mod can be seen in your Steam Workshop (Installed) and if the mod have an update, it will appear in the Steam Workshop (Updates).
6. Next, navigate to Configuration Files.
7. On the Configuration Files, look for GameUserSettings.ini file and click the Config Editor.
8. Look for the Server Mods, put the Mod Id here, if you have multiple mods on the server, separate each mods with a comma.

9. After adding your mods, click the Save button to apply the mods on your server.
